Manager Neeraj Mishra informed that Alka Yagnik also fell victim to the virus in the initial phase of Covid and the doctor says that she had a viral attack due to its effect which affected her hearing power. The manager also told on behalf of the doctor that such cases related to Covid are being seen in other people as well, where they fall victim to such viral attacks.
What causes sensorineural hearing loss?
Hearing ability reduces or stops completely due to aging. This disease is called presbycusis. Actually, due to aging, there is pressure on the brain process due to which hearing ability reduces.
Hearing loss can also occur suddenly due to a head injury. The ear cells are destroyed from inside. This is called sensorineural hearing loss.
Diabetes: Diabetes disease greatly affects the blood circulation of the ear. Due to which the problem of sensorineural hearing loss occurs.
High BP: Due to high BP, the blood vessels of the ear get damaged a lot. This causes a lot of damage to the hearing ability.
Viral infection: Mumps, measles, rubella, cytomegalovirus (CMV) and herpes simplex virus cause ear infections that can lead to sensorineural hearing loss.
There can be many reasons for ‘sensorineural hearing loss’. People who use headphones a lot also face this problem. If you use headphones for more than an hour, the risk of these diseases increases significantly.
